Report: US increasing use of spy drones in hunt for bin Laden
Sep 10, 2008, 5:00 GMT
Washington - The United States is intensifying its use of unmanned Predator drones in the hunt for al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in the mountains of western Pakistan, The Washington Post reported Wednesday, citing US and Pakistani officials.
The strategic shift reflected the US failure to develop meaningful human intelligence in the remote region despite placing a 25-million-dollar reward for information that leads to the death or capture of the terrorist network's leader, the newspaper reported.
The United States has tripled the number of Hellfire missile attacks by Predators in Pakistan this year with 11 strikes reported, compared with three in 2007.
The attacks are part of a renewed effort to cripple al-Qaeda's central command that began early last year and has picked up speed as President George W Bush's term in office winds down, the US and Pakistani officials told the Post.
The tactics have prompted a rise in the number of civilian casualties but have also killed two senior al-Qaeda leaders with 5-million-dollar bounties on their heads, the report said.

He is probably wearing a burka and the drones will never recognize him. He no stupid...
Don't think so Jane....The president and vice president don't treat the capture or killing of bin laden as lightly as you Jane (nor as lightly as the American News media do)
Due to regional political problems in that particular part of the world, the American military has been unable to strike with the gloves off. However, now that both Afghanistan and Pakistan are committing equally to go after him and the Taliban in a unified force, (Sept. 10 announcement) the likelihood of all combined forces finally routing that f--king bedoin murderer is very good. I give it 6 to 7 months at the latest before we'll be seeing mug shots of pig Ladens body (or parts of same) shown in headlines across the planet Jane, to answer your real question.

You wanna bet Bush and Cheney will pull Bin Laden out of their *** just in time for the election. Maybe they really have him already, they waited a long time to announce the capture of Saddam. Anything ever develop with the clip of an interview with Benazir Bhutto a week or two before her death where she says Bin Laden is dead, that he was killed. And said it like it was common knowledge. I bet end mid to late Oct they will bust out with Bin Laden.
