AR Rahman's music embodies hope amidst despair,a timeless refrain that has been touching human hearts from the Phoenix's rising to Jesus' resurrection. What better time to resurrect global movie audiences than during a global financial crisis and reminding underdogs that the odds may be long but not non-existent for slumdogs. Also, in the spirit of greater cultural understanding and melting barriers Rahman the
'Mozart of Madras' reminds us of another great musician, Lennon and his call to 'Imagine'. That day is a little closer today. Rahman's triumph is a global triumph, an underdog's triumph, the triumph of hope over despair and in Rahman's words the triumph of 'love over hate.' 'Jai Ho' ... ' God
is great.'
