Afghan reporter shot dead in Pakistan

Islamabad - Gunmen shot dead an Afghan journalist and wounded his colleague in Pakistan's troubled north-western region on Monday, officials said.
The pair was travelling in a commuter bus when it came under attack near Jamrud in the Khyber tribal district bordering Afghanistan.
Janullah Hashim, a reporter for the Afghan Shamshad television channel, and his colleague, Ali Khan, were travelling from the border town of Torkham to Peshawar city when men in a car fired at the bus.
'Hashim was killed, while Khan was injured,' local administrator Fida Bangash said.
Bangash was unsure about the motive for the attack.
No group immediately claimed responsibility, but the district is plagued by militants who regularly attack trucks carrying military and food supplies through Khyber to the Western forces battling Taliban militants in land-locked Afghanistan.
More than 15 journalists have been killed in Pakistan, mostly in the north-western region, since May 2008.
