Sep 26, 2009, 6:52 GMT
Islamabad - A bomb exploded in Pakistan's north-western city of Peshawar on Saturday, killing at least five people, just hours after three victims died in a suicide bombing in a nearby district, media reports said.
The attack in the heart of Peshawar city took place just around midday outside a busy market in the Saddar area.
The private Geo News television channel said eight people were wounded in the blast, which destroyed more than a dozen vehicles and damaged several commercial buildings in the area.
Earlier in the day, a militant carried out a suicide bombing at a police station in nearby Bannu district, killing at least three people and injuring 60 more.
