Al-Qaeda leader detained in Pakistan

Islamabad - Pakistan security forces arrested a top-ranking al-Qaeda military commander in the southern port city of Karachi on Sunday, media reports said.
The online edition of the newspaper Dawn named him as Adam Gadahn, alias Abu Yahya, a US citizen who is on the CIA's top-ten most-wanted list.
Gadahn, who was born in Pennsylvania, is believed to a commander of foreign militants fighting in Afghanistan against the US.
A close associate of Osama bin Laden, Gadahn was believed to have been living with the al-Qaeda founder after the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States in 2001.
He was detained in a suburb of Karachi by Pakistan security forces along with help from US intelligence, the Dawn report said.
The CIA had offered a reward of 1 million dollars leading to the arrest of Gadahn.
