India condemns bomb attacks in Pakistan
Mar 13, 2010, 10:36 GMT
New Delhi - India Saturday condemned the bombings in Lahore that killed more than 40 people, but added that it was disappointed by allegations of an Indian hand in the attacks.
'The government of India unequivocally condemns the series of bomb blasts in Lahore on March 12, 2010 which claimed the lives of scores of people,' the External Affairs Ministry said. 'Our condolences go out to the families of those killed by these acts of terrorism.'
The ministry expressed dismay at statements from Pakistan alleging Indian involvement in the Lahore attacks and other terrorist acts and disturbances in Pakistan.
India has no interest in destabilizing Pakistan, it said.
Officials of both countries met in February for the first talks since the November 2008 terrorist attack in Mumbai, which India claims was planned by the Pakistan-based Islamist militant organization the Lashkar-e-Taiba.
