First female Danish soldier killed in Afghanistan

Copenhagen - The first female Danish soldier has died during a tour of duty in Afghanistan, the Danish military command said Wednesday.
The 22-year-old died immediately when her vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb near Gereskh in the restive Helmand province, the military said.
Two other soldiers were slightly injured in the blast that took place Tuesday.
Denmark has a 750-strong contingent based mainly in Helmand province. Thirty two Danish soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since 2002.
