Bulgaria increases number of troops in Afghanistan
Jun 23, 2010, 10:56 GMT
Sofia - Bulgaria is to boost its troop numbers in Afghanistan by 65, the government said on Wednesday.
Most of the new soldiers would be experts and medical personnel, 45 of whom would help with training the Afghan army. They would join NATO's mission in Afghanistan on September 1.
Bulgaria currently has around 500 troops in Afghanistan. Wednesday's announcement comes a month after NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited Sofia.
