Bomb kills two Romanian soldiers in Afghanistan

Bucharest - Two Romanian soldiers serving in Afghanistan were killed and another injured in a blast, the Defence Ministry said Friday in Bucharest.
The soldiers were killed on patrol when their vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device 40 kilometres north-east of Qalat, in the southern province of Zabul.
The injured soldier was airlifted to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, the ministry said.
Romania, a NATO member since 2004, maintains a contingent of 1,663 soldiers in Afghanistan. So far, 17 Romanians have been killed and more than 50 injured in the peacekeeping mission there.
