Dec 15, 2010, 12:03 GMT
Kathmandu - An aircraft that took off from Lamidanda Airport in northern Nepal's Khotang district has gone missing, officials said.
The Twin Otter plane, made by De Havilland Canada, was carrying 19 passengers and three crew members. At least one foreign citizen was said to be travelling on the aircraft.
Flight operator Tara Air said it lost contact with the plane minutes after take-off on Wednesday afternoon. Rescue helicopters had been dispatched, the company added.
The flight was scheduled to make the 45-minute trip to capital Kathmandu.
