Italian soldier killed in Afghanistan (Extra)

Rome - An Italian soldier was killed Monday and four others were injured when a bomb exploded near the armoured car in which they were travelling, Italy's Defence Minister Ignazio La Russa said.
The incident took place around 25 kilometres north of Shindand in western Afghanistan.
The dead soldier was identified as 36-year-old Massimo Ranzani. The lives of the four injured were not in danger, La Russa said.
The killing brings to 37 the number of Italian soldier who have died in Afghanistan since Italy began deploying troops in the country in 2004 as part of NATO's mission there.
