Indian premier to visit Bangladesh early September
Jul 4, 2011, 16:42 GMT
Dhaka - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Bangladesh in early September in a bid to resolve politically sensitive matters between two South Asian neighbours, officials in Dhaka said Monday.
He will arrive in Dhaka on September 6 on a two-day visit.
The visit - to concentrate on trade, the internet, water resources, the mutual boundary - comes in the wake of some reported comments by the Indian premier that 'many Bangladeshi are very anti-Indian,' causing a row.
The remarks were, however, removed from his official website Friday saying they were 'off-the-record'.
This will be Manmohan's second visit to Dhaka. Earlier he visited Bangladesh to attend the 13th summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation in 2005.
