Italian soldier killed in Afganistan bomb blast

Rome - An Italian soldier was killed Tuesday in a bomb attack in Afghanistan, media reports said.
The soldier, 28, was hit by the blast shortly after he had got out of a vehicle in the western Afghan district of Bakwa, the ANSA news agency reported.
The death brings to 40 the number of Italian soldiers who have died in Afghanistan since Italy began deploying troops in 2002 as part of NATO's mission in the country.
