Six members of Afghan family murdered
Aug 27, 2011, 7:55 GMT
Kabul - Six members of an Afghan family were murdered in south-western Afghanistan, police said Saturday.
The killing took place in Zaraj city, the provincial capital of Nimroz province, on Friday night, the provincial police chief said.
'The family of Niaz Mohammad was murdered overnight by unknown men who attacked his house killing six members of the family and leaving only one 3-year-old child alive,' Abdul Jabar Purdeli said.
'The cause of the incident seems to be a criminal act due to personal enmity and is not related to insurgency.'
Niaz was a clothing merchant in his late 30s, he said.
