Oct 4, 2011, 12:39 GMT
Warsaw - One Polish soldier was killed and two injured when their patrol vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, Polish military officials said.
The 30-year-old Rafal Nowakowski is the 30th fatality since Poland joined the NATO mission in the war-torn country in 2007.
Some 2,600 Polish soldiers are currently deployed to Afghanistan but the country plans to reduce its mission by around 100 soldiers this year and to withdraw in 2014.
