Kabul - Six Afghan policemen and a tribal elder were killed Tuesday in a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistan, officials said.
'An influential and patriot tribal elder, Haji Abdul Wali, who was deputy (head) in the district development council, was martyred today in a roadside bomb explosion,' a statement by the Kandahar governor's media office said.
'Six policemen were also martyred in this explosion.'
The explosion was caused by a landmine planted by 'armed enemies of the government,' the statement said.
