Afghan lawmaker on hunger strike removed by the police

Kabul = Afghan female lawmaker who has been on hunger strike was forcefully evicted by the police and her tent removed, an official said on Friday.
Semin Barakzai, from the western province of Herat, was one of nine members of parliament who were disqualified by the independent electoral commission in August.
But she maintains she was wrongfully ousted. She protested the decision and went on hunger strike 12 days ago.
'The area where she erected a tent for the hunger strike was a target and for the sake of her's and her visitors' security, we had to close it down.' said Siddiq Sediqi, spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry.
The official said she was taken to the hospital due to deteriorating health condition.'
There was no reaction to her hunger strike from the government.
