New Delhi - Indian police have arrested six suspected terrorists believed to have been responsible for attacks in Delhi, Pune and Bangalore in 2010, federal Home Minister P Chidambaram said Wednesday.
The group is thought to be behind the three attacks, including a bomb blast at the German Bakery in Pune in February 13, 2010 which killed 17 people.
The men are accused of being part of a militant group called the Indian Mujahideen, Delhi Police said.
One of the six arrested is a Pakistani national. Police confiscated arms, ammunition, explosives, detonators and fake Indian currency notes in several locations in the capital.
The arrests were made between November 22 and November 27 in New Delhi, Madhubani town in eastern Bihar state and the southern city of Chennai.
A preliminary investigation had revealed that the men were involved in the Pune blast, the attack outside a mosque in the old quarters of the capital and at a cricket stadium in information technology hub Bangalore in 2010, police said.
