UN Security Council condemns Afghanistan terrorist attack

New York - The UN Security Council on Wednesday condemned 'in the strongest terms the abhorrent terrorist attacks' that killed dozens of people who were performing religious rituals in two Afghan cities.
The attacks on Tuesday in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif, in northern Afghanistan, killed more than 60 people and injured some 150.
'The members of the Security Council expressed their deep sympathy and sincere condolences to the victims of this heinous acts and to their families, and to the people and Government of Afghanistan,' the council said in a statement after discussing the attacks.
It called on the Kabul government to bring those responsible to justice.
