Jan 14, 2012, 10:01 GMT
Islamabad - Gunmen stormed a district police headquarters in Pakistan's north-western province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, triggering clashes that have left at least seven people injured, police said.
The raid took place close to a tribal area where Taliban militants are active.
'The exact numbers of the attackers is not known. But initial information indicates that there might be between eight to 10 attackers,' said a local police official.
'One of the attackers detonated his suicide vest at the main gate and then several attackers, who were disguised as policemen, entered the facility.'
The official said there was information that a district police officer might be among the seven or eight people to have been injured.
