Kandahar, Afghanistan - A suicide attack and a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistan killed at least 11 people, including a local intelligence chief, on Wednesday, a government spokesman said.
A suicide bomber ridding a motorbike blew himself up in a bazaar in Kajaki district of the province, killing seven civilians and injuring eight others, Daud Ahmadi, the provincial governor spokesman said.
In Nad Ali district of the same province, a roadside bomb killed the district intelligence chief, his two bodyguards and a member of the district's social council, Ahmadi said.
Wali Mohammad, the intelligence chief, was on his way home when the bomb hidden next to his house was remotely detonated, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile an Afghan governor said on Wednesday that NATO-led forces have killed five civilians, including two children, during a night raid in eastern Afghanistan.
The raid by NATO-led forces took place in the Sawkay district of the eastern province of Kunar on Monday night.
An International Security Assistance Forces spokesman confirmed the operation in Sawkay district of Kunar province. 'We are currently investigating the allegation of civilian causalities,' he said.
