Kathmandu - A Nepali man has claimed to be the world's shortest man, local media reported Wednesday.
State-run Nepal Television broadcast images of Chandra Bahadur Dangi, 72, who jumped off a park bench and did a short walk for his audience at a press conference in Jhapa district of eastern Nepal.
Dangi, a native of the remote, far-western district of Dang, reportedly measures just 22 inches, and weighs 12 kilograms. He has requested support from the authorities to help register his name in the Guinness Book of World records as the world's shortest man.
That title is currently held by Filipino, Junrey Balawing, who measures 23.5 inches.
