New Delhi - A teenage pupil was accused of stabbing his teacher to death in the southern Indian city of Chennai Thursday, media reports said.
The pupil allegedly slashed the teacher's throat and repeatedly stabbed her in front of the shocked class, the Times of India newspaper reported online.
The 15-year-old reportedly threatened the other pupils and ran out of the classroom, but was later caught by teachers and students and handed over to the police.
The teacher, 40, died before she could be taken to hospital, the report said.
The boy reportedly said he was angry that the teacher had scolded him for neglecting his studies and had complained to his parents. He was being questioned by police and was to be sent to a home for juvenile offenders.
