Police link fiery airport attack to foiled London bombings (Roundup)

London - Scottish police said late Saturday that the blazing car attack on Glasgow airport seemed linked to Friday's foiled car bombings in London.
'There are clearly similarities,' Scottish Police Chief Constable William Rae told a press conference.
In both the London and Glasgow attacks, automobiles appeared to have been rigged as fire bombs, using mainly petrol as an accelerant to fuel an explosion. The car at the Glasgow airport burst into flames just as it crashed into the terminal building about 3:15 pm (1415 GMT) but did not deliver a full explosion.
The fire from the car did extensive damage to the terminal building, and police were awaiting clearance from firefighters to approach the wreckage for investigation.
The British government raised its security alert to critical, the highest level, after Saturday's attack in Glasgow. The critical alert, highest of five steps on the government's security scale, indicates that authorities believe further attacks are imminent.
At the Glasgow airport, one of the two suspects arrested after climbing out of a blazing Jeep Cherokee driven through the glass front doors of the check-in terminal, was being treated at Royal Alexandria Hospital in nearby Paisley.
Rae said that the suspect had suffered severe burns and was in critical condition. Witnesses said that the man's hair and much of his clothes and skin were burned off.
A suspicious device was found 'on his person,' and the hospital's emergency ward was evacuated until the device could be safely removed from the building, Rae said. He refused to say whether the device was a suspected explosives belt.
The second suspect subdued and arrested at the airport was being held at high-security Govan police station.
One civilian suffered a leg injury at the airport that Rae described as not life threatening.
The Glasgow attack took place during the busiest week of the summer holiday season at the crowded airport. Some passengers whose flights were about to take off at the time of the attack remained stuck aboard parked aircraft more than six hours later.
'There was no suggestion prior to the incident that Scotland was going to be attacked,' Rae said.
Newly installed British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, still in his first week in office, held a third meeting in two days of the government's crisis committee, the so-called Cobra, to discuss the Glasgow incident.
'It is right to raise the level at airports and crowded places in the light of the heightened threat,' he said following the meeting.
Brown praised police and security officials for their work since Friday and urged Britons to support authorities in efforts to investigate the latest incidents and prevent further attacks.
'I know that the British people wills stand together, united, resolute and strong,' he said.
One terrorism expert told broadcaster Sky News that the Glasgow attack, if linked to the incidents in London, appeared to signal the 'start of a campaign.'

Stop making excuses for these satanic inbreds and realize that these attacks are their fault since the muslims invaded Europe back in the 7th and 8th centuries.

Apparantly ,one of the asians at Glasgow airport was on fire next to the car and someone went to help him , a person with a fluorescent jacket on said ' leave the 'censored ' to burn ', and they did.
None of this is of much consequence, this kind of thing is the Muslim equivilent of Soccer hooliganism.
Religious tolerance should be taught in schools, based on the premise that all relgions are silly vestiages of more primitive times: perhaps the most viable form of religions is culinary, so the classes shoud try the foods of he various moribund religion, and be taught that the only ingedients that are real are the spices and foodstuffs in the menus of the various religious cultures- otherwise religion is unscientific and irrational.
Also lets remove the irrationality of the fear factor. The fact is that a few ragtag exotic nut cases around the globe are of less importance if perhpas more irritating then a swarm of pesty insects. Oh sure for a while thy'll have their nasty little triumpshs.
The fact is the biggest one they will ever have is 9/11, a lucky blow that was carried out by a well disicplined (and intelligent gang) smart crips or bloods could have done this. Its the last big event that Radical Muslims will ever carry out.
They are disorganized, atechnological primitives. Let them dream about the 7 th century, leave them to their absurd dreams

I blame America and Israel , even though ' America and Israel ' are far younger countries than Mass Murdering Enslaving Colonial Britain/Europe .
Let us not forget that ALL the Excuses we use to ' blame America ' also apply to the UK and Europe ......
