How do you know what his beliefs are? I refer you to the statement above.

Didn't The Prophet say: ' Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (or insult) his neighbour.' When will the western world wake up and smell the evil that is called the religion of peace(ISLAM). It amazes me how the politicians in Europe continue to lie and make excuses about ISLAM but supress anyone who speaks the truth about it. Every terrorist act in the west committed by muslims has a connection to ISLAM. Just listen to what these terrorists give as their motivation to terror. Also, every terrorist seems to be linked to a mosque and a spiritual leader(IMAM). I have asked many to read the Qu'ran and the Hadiths and then come back to me and tell me that ISLAM is a peaceful religion.

Good morning. My hope is that you will take a few moments to read my comments and understand where many British 'non' Muslims are coming from.
After all, you wish to be heard and so do we. In my opinion, you're going about your campaign in completely the wrong way at this time, and it will only serve to 'anger' non Muslims because they feel you are patronizing them with the 'peace' word. By focusing this on 'yourselves' as being peaceful Muslims and saying you wish to eradicate Islamophobia, you imply that people's fears are completely unfounded. Once again you miss the main target you 'should' be throwing you frustration at. Namely, the people within the Ummah who are ending up in the news more than yourselves.
Criticize THEM loudly with your frustration. Launch political campaigns against THEM. Do not launch campaigns about yourselves aimed at non Muslims which essentially implies non muslims are 'ignorant fools' and that their fears are bigotry and & unfounded,when infact a large number of so called 'Islamophobes' have travelled in large parts of the Islamic world, read the Qu'ran and Hadiths and have found things they find disturbing and hardly peacefull in the western sense of that word.
Until you do this, people will assume that unless you come out en mass and criticize those you feel the media focuses on too much,you must have sympathys with them at 'some' quiet level in their political aims, such as the so called 'liberation' of Palestine and an end to Israel because it is considered by the Ummah to be 'Islamic land'. What you need to do (in my opinion) is state where you stand, clearly and loudly on 'these' people.

Unless you do, non Muslims cannot be blamed for assuming that deep down you have sympathys with those doing all the dirty work. Doing the donkey work, while the moderate organizations do the paper pushing and cultural alteration. Islamophobia is not based in nothing. Yes it may be amplified by Media, true. But it is based in this kind of situation when Muslims continually ignore or stay relatively silent on the actions of such militant expansion and attacks on the west. Clearly state where you stand.
Clearly and loudly seperate yourself from the actions of those who use violence to achieve their aims, and you may be believed. Unless you do, then I think all you will achieve with this campaign is cause more anger amongst non muslims that you are patronizing us by saying Islam is a religion of peace. That word is such a simplification of matters.
You need to find the courage within yourself to face these militant types head on in the form of public condemnation. Unless you do that, nobody is going to be convinced by your campaign the way you are going about it.
Dear Andy: I read your comments and agree with them. A common Muslim like me does realize the nature and gravity of the problem with acts of violence that have been reported in the masss media to had been committed by Muslims. I personally do condemn such acts. In my opinion Muslims should do more to denounce violence. First of all it needs to be reassured that no religion teaches violence, Islam like all the other religions is a tolerant GOD-sent religion. Anyone who reads the above mentioned ahadith and verses without the context and knowledge is most likely to be confused. Prophet Mohammad PBUH was not only the messenger of Allah swt but also a dynamic leader and a LAW-restorer. Does any society in the world lets the social evils go unchecked? Should illegitimate sexual relations go unchecked? should theft be ignored? Are they not social evils? You let it go unchecked and then let the people be killed by diseases like AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Historically we don't find any mass killing of jews by muslims, comparable with the holocaust. Hitler was a christian, does that mean that Christianity teaches mass killing? Its something to be appreciated that people from different faiths want to discuss matters and favour dialogue over war. The questions arising in the minds of people of other faith are welcomed and it would be highly appreciated that religion be studied with logic. Prophet Mohammed pbuh brought a complete code of life with him, and one of his objective given to him by Allah swt was to combat social evils and restore social justice.May Allah guide us all towards the best.Ameen.

Is this true? It is the very opposite of the most important statement made by all Muslims everyday, 'Laa elaha illallah', meaning 'There is no god to worship besides God (without any partners).'
This is the very same statement from Exodus, chapter 20, 'Thou shall have no gods beside Me (Allah).' I have the Arabic Bible and it says 'Allah' in place of 'god'.

This is the first time I've been in this area of the internet and its quite fascinating to find a fairly decent discussion going about Islam.
However there is an implicit assumption that there is a God and that his name was ( insert as needed ) Whilst I tend to lean to agnosticizm , for there is no way I shall ever know by introduction personally to this God, what life is all about (Alfie). Bbecause I was born into Christianity I t

All religions let themselves down by taking themselves too seriously and whilst laws are necessary to prevent anarchy etc.religions fall down by trying to enforce many aspects which are very debateable and tell others that they will go to hell if they disobey and a9a nice one this from the Muslims) will go to heaven (where is it)and be waited on by lots of virgins-why virgins?

All the passages quoted to prove that the bible has its own share of evils are true and no doubt Islam (the koran) has those same quotes for most of the koran was taken from the bible. Unfortunately NONE of these verses have ANYTHING to do with christianity!!
The verses are Mosaic and Levitical Scripture (the tora)from the old testament that were given to the Jewish nations, and when Jesus (the one and only saviour of this world.. amen)came to us he told the Christianns that all those laws were now fullfilled in him if any man accepts him as their one and only saviour, and the only law he has now is that we love God first and mankind second .The two greatest commandments.
Yes....Christians later went on the crusades etc... but christianity then developed out of their errors, as Islam needs to do today, dropping the barbaric sharia it practisies worldwide.

ps: hmm, maybe people think islam is a dark religion because of this kind of things, you know something that you think is an islamic teachings, and you tell everybody else about it..(you know what..islam teaches..bla bla bla), and the other person is like 'wow, that is a twisted religion!', and you like 'i know!'.

You who believe! Retaliation is prescribed for you in the case of people killed: free man for free man, slave for slave, female for female. But if someone is absolved by his brother, blood-money should be claimed with correctness and paid in good will. That is an easement and a mercy from your Lord. Fighting is prescribed for you even if it is hateful to you. It may be that you hate something when it is good for you and it may be that you love something when it is bad for you. Allah knows and you do not know. (Qur'an 2:216)
Do you not see those who were told: Hold back from fighting but perform prayer and give the alms? Then when fighting is prescribed for them, a group of them fear people as Allah should be feared, or even more than that. They say, “Our Lord, why have you prescribed fighting for us? If only you would give us a little more time!” Say, “The enjoyment of this world is very brief. The hereafter is better for those who guard against evil. You will not be wronged by the smallest speck.”(Qur'an 4:77)
Permission to fight is given to those who are fought against because they have been wronged-truly Allah has the power to come to their support-those who were expelled from their homes without any right, merely for saying “Our lord is Allah”. (Qur'an 22:39-40)
If two parties of the believers fight, make peace between them. But if one of them attacks the other unjustly, fight the attackers until they revert to Allah's command. If they revert make peace between them with justice, and be even-handed. Allah loves those who are even-handed. (Qur'an 49:9)
Allah does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the religion or driven you from your homes, or from being just towards them. Allah loves those who are just. (Qur'an 60:8)
Allah merely forbids you from taking as friends those who have fought you in the religion and driven you from your homes and who supported your expulsion. Any who take them as friends are wrongdoers. (Qur'an 60:9)

What all the above mean is that Muslims should not be cowardly, fighting and dying in the process is better than OPPRESSION by the Zionists in Palestine and the White House, even if they have bigger guns, bigger power...that's NOTHING, because what you are fighting for is for the survival of your faith and your rights to your land and your faith!!

That is why justice is important in Islam.God loves the just, not the oppressor.
Where there is no justice there will be no peace.
When you oppress a people (whatever religion you are) you will not achieve peace. When you invade a place, when you put in government puppets to serve your own agenda while you reside thousands of miles away, when you 'engineer' conflicts to serve your interests, this is called INJUSTICE and OPPRESSION and DECEIPT...and guess what there will be no PEACE, which you then talk about as though it is YOU who are seeking it when it you who are doing your best to avoid it, kill it...TO SERVE YOUR INTERESTS.
There are only two types of peopl in the final analysis, those who have conscience and those who put aside any conscience for the sake of the love of this world.
Mankind! We created you from a male and female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you might come to know each other. The noblest among you in Allah's sight is the one of you who best performs his duty. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Qur'an 49:13)
Therefore be patient with a patience which is beautiful. (Qur'an 70:5)
If you want to retaliate, retaliate to the same degree as the injury done to you. But if you are patient, it is better to be patient. (Qur'an 16:126)
Islam is NOT BLACK OR WHITE. It is subtle. In Islam patience is a great virtue, so for those who want to be thinkers...fighting is a last resort, patience and endurance have their place. God created the children of Adam and has Blessed ALL the children of Adam (Look for reference of this in the Quran). The only distinction btween humanity is truthfulness/deceitfulness, righteousness/oppression, lover of God/hater of God.
Islam is for all peoples of all races, all colours.
