FBI investigators are seeking the assistance of Scotland Yard in the hunt for US fugitive James J. Bulger.
Mr Bulger, who disappeared in 1994 and has a $US1 million reward posted for information relating to his capture, has been seen in Europe according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The Irish-American Bulger, 78, is wanted for his role in murders committed during the 70s and early 80s while leader of a violent organised crime group in Boston, Massachusetts. The group allegedly controlled extortion, drug deals and other illegal activities in the city.
Bulger is alleged to have a violent temper and always carries a knife according to the FBI's website. He is among the FBI's ten most wanted fugitives from justice.
Scotland Yard has said it will issue a statement on the matter today.
