(M&C) - The man the Princess of Wales referred to as her "rock" is due to give evidence at the inquest into her death.
Paul Burrell, the butler who worked for the princess for a decade, is expected to answer questions at the High Court in London over Diana's claim in the months before her death that "dark forces" wanted to dispose of her.
The princess wrote a letter to Mr Burrell just before her death when she alleged her husband, the Prince of Wales was "planning an accident in my car".
Diana died in a car crash in Paris along with her consort Dodi al-Fayed and driver Henri Paul in 1997.
Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker has already acknowledged the close friendship between the princess and Mr Burrell and said the former butler may be able to give an important "insight " into the case.
He told the court last year: "He says he discussed her personal affairs with her, was shown private correspondence and helped to draft replies."
Mr Burrell flew to Paris within hours of the death of Diana to personally escort the body home.
