London - The British government Thursday rejected calls by the leader of the Anglican Church that Islamic (sharia) law should be introduced in the country to promote social cohesion.

'The Prime Minister believes British law should apply in this country, based on British values,' said a spokesman for Gordon Brown.

The comment was seen as a sharp rebuke for Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury and leader of the worldwide Anglican Church, who said earlier Thursday that he believed that the introduction of sharia in Britain was 'unavoidable.'

Brown's spokesman said it was the government's position that Islamic law 'cannot be used as a justification for committing breaches of English law, nor should the principles of sharia law be included in a civil court for resolving contractual disputes.'

However, the government was prepared to look at the application of sharia law on a case-by-case basis, for instance in relation to the taxation of property purchases, to avoid Muslim citizens having to pay such duty on sharia-compliant mortgages.

'In general terms, if there are specific instances that can be looked at on a case-by-case basis, that is something we can look at.'

More appeasing + kowtowing to the invaders by softies in power.
Treason from within is the first word that comes to mind.

These muslims are not forced to come to the UK or any other western society. They come to use our pathetic politaly correct policies to help them with their mission of outbreeding and taking over the place.

Social cohesion my butt,is this bloke on drugs or what.?
This will do nothing but devide even further than it IS allready.
Chip, chip chip, before ya know it they'll be trying to change the laws and our way of life said Enoch. Are we learning yet..??

Wester society needs to bite the bullet and acknowledge that this experiment of combining different civilizations has certainly 'FAILED DISMALLY' in the least.
Deport them all before it is really too late, they are not wanted.

I am not interested in their crap at all, if they want sharia law then its simple baby. 'LEAVE' to Iran,Iraq or where ever else enjoys this heathenous way of life.

Lets see some serious action from our so called Goverments.
Love it or LEAVE should be the motto.

Noharnes is on the ball.
Pussy govt should be kicking the bastards out of the country and not changing one thing at all.

When we can build churches in muslim countries, and change their laws, go on the welfare, change food menu's etc, Then we will entertain your crap.
So in other words it will never happen.

Appeasment to this lot will end in disaster.
We ARE at WAR with these people, why does the Govt let them in to take over from inside.?

Guttless. Guttless. Guttless.

It is truly astounding. Wow!

EUrabia.

The UK - and the EU in general, needs to take a strong stand and not allow its core values to be eroded.

The whole idea of liberalism and tolerance is a strength of western society, but only if we understand its limitations. Tolerance only extends so far. We should not 'tolerate' a monolithic system that rejects 'tolerance.'

Wake up!
