London - A wax figure of troubled British soul singer Amy Winehouse, 24, is to be unveiled at Madame Tussaud's in London next month, the museum said Monday.
Winehouse, who has been diagnosed with the lung disease emphysema, has returned for treatment to a London clinic after performing at a concert in London to mark the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela and the Glastonbury rock festival in south-west England at the weekend.
The figure, complete with sailor tattoos and the singer's trademark beehive hairdo, is to be added to a gallery of pop and rock stars including The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake.
'We are really pleased to be creating Amy. She is a real icon in modern British music, a continual award winner, and an internationally recognized star widely requested by our guests,' said Edward Fuller, general manager of Madame Tussaud's.
The figure will be unveiled in late July.
