BA plane in priority landing in London after fumes in cabin

London - A British Airways (BA) Boeing was Monday forced to request a priority landing at London's Heathrow airport after fumes were detected in the passenger cabin, the airline said.
No one was hurt or taken ill as the Boeing 757, travelling from Nice in southern France with 137 passengers on board, landed safely just after 0700 GMT Monday.
'The crew asked for a priority landing after fumes were detected in the cabin. Our engineers are now inspecting the plane,' a BA spokesman said.
The incident came a day after a BA plane made an unscheduled landing on Sunday at Berlin's Schoenefeld Airport after a cockpit instrument indicated a problem.
The 220 passengers and 16 crew walked off the Boeing 777 so technicians could check it.
The pilot decided to land the plane, which was flying from London to New Delhi, because of the instrument warning, air traffic control officials confirmed. They denied a radio station claim there had been smoke in the plane.
