Controversial Dutch politician lands in Britain despite ban (Extra)

London - Controversial Dutch politician Geert Wilders arrived in Britain Thursday despite an entry ban imposed by the British government which says that his virulent anti-Islamic views pose a threat to public order.
Wilders, leader of the liberal-rightist Freedom Party PVV, touched down at London's Heathrow airport on a flight from Amsterdam. It was expected that immigration officials would stop him at passport control.
He had been invited by Malcolm Pearson, a member of the House of Lords, to show his controversial political film Fitna, which warns of the spread of radical Islam and calls the Koran a 'fascist book.'
The British Home Office said Thursday it would 'stop those who want to spread extremism in all its forms,' applying a 2006 law banning the incitement of racial and religious hatred.

Critics claim that this Dutch MP has made a film about hatred towards Islam but the only thing shown is the very real hatred that islam has for the rest of the world.
I am ashamed of the British government and by it's actions has helped destroy democracy.
Brown and his government are a bunch of cowards.
Imagine a Muslim Imam cherry picking anti Gentile verses from the Talmud and the Old Testament, captioning these verses on top of pictures from the Gaza massacres, or even making an anti Jewish film. Would people of the so called free world shout 'let the Imam in the UK, he is entitled to freedom of speech?
I don't think so, he will be accused of inciting hatred. We have seen Imams being denied entry to Britain based on so much less - so here you have a group of people who have their diseased minds exposed. This form of hypocrisy is the devils work.
According to Geert Wilders the Quran is facist and should be banned - well how about the Bible?
The Bible is more anti Semetic then the protocals of the elders of Zion or the Quran.
So why doesn't Wilders call for the banning of the Bible?
My second point, you have people who question the holocaust, they are not deniers, but Questioners. If you even dare to question the holocaust you get put in prison in many European countries - and what's wrong in denying the holocaust, is it not free speach?
What happened to freedom of speech in the so called free world?
Where is Wilders fighting for freedom of speech for the people who want to search for the truth about the number of dead during the holocaust?
You see the double standards, some hearts and mind are so diseased its incurable. You can deny the slave trade and you will not be punished, but if you deny the holocaust, you get thrown in prison.

A sad day for the UK. If our government refused entry to this man, then surely they it should also ban - deport the hate filled Muslim imams who preach violence against this country. The governmet has got its priority completerly wrong.

There are many letters and opinions in todays UK press and the vast majority condemn the government. Freedom of speech will live again in the UK but not before we rid ourselfs of this hideous government and their muslim paymasters.

'Mohammed was a liar' is not a quote that you will come across very often. In an islamic country that will certainly get you killed and in many western countries it will get you arrested for inciting hatred and violance but the hatred and violance will only come from muslims who would consider that it would be an insult to their prophet.
Fortunately there are a few very good websites that tell the truth about muhammed and I urge everybody to seek them out and make a ballanced decision about this self-styled prophet.
Islam seeks to destroy free speech because free speech is their greatest enemy, believe and never question is there philosophy and if allowed to flourish will end in death, destruction and unhappiness for the world.
Some commentators are missing the point. In a truly open and democratic country the right of free speech should be paramount, non-negotiable and unlimited. That goes for Holocaust-Deniers, Anti-semites, Islamists, Zionists, Racists, Fascists, Marxists, Christians, Atheists et al. Once any viewpoint is proscribed, or any term of speech outlawed, however repugnant or offensive it may seem to others, then free expression is no longer absolute, and we enter the realms of statist manipulation and the 'Thought Police.'
It is to this sorry condition, thanks to the nauseating sanctimonious tenets of 'Political Correctness' and the connivance of spineless, self-serving politicians, that my country has been reduced. Nor is it anything other than disingenuous to reply that some 'terminological' limitations are necessary to protect minority communities and prevent 'Hate-Crime.' The UK has a proud heritage of the rule of law going back to Magna Carta and beyond. Statutes defining offences like 'Incitement to Murder' remain in force and are sufficient protection for ALL citizens; but no one has an automatic right to never be offended by others views.
To illustrate this point, dear Islamist preachers, by all means feel free to call me a Feringhee or a pig: But be careful about adding that i should therefore be butchered. I will be quite straightforward about ridiculing your mediaeval mindset in return. And if you don't like living in an open society, then by all means feel free to slither back to somewhere where the government will give a person fify lashes for drinking a can of beer!
