London - Maxim Bakiyev, the son of the deposed Kyrgyz president Kurmanbek Bakiyev, is seeking political asylum in Britain, it was reported on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old was questioned by Britain's UK Border Agency after arriving in a private jet on Sunday at the Farnborough airport in Hampshire, south-west of London, the Press Association said.
His father was toppled as president in April following violent protests, after which both he and his family fled Kyrgyzstan.
