Al-Qaeda behind attack on UK embassy car in Yemen: Ministry (Extra)
Oct 6, 2010, 16:56 GMT
Sana'a, Yemen - The rocket attack on a car carrying British diplomats in the Yemeni capital Sana'a Wednesday bore the 'hallmarks of al-Qaeda,' Yemen's Interior Ministry said.
The ministry said in a statement that police would 'continue search for perpetrators of this terrorist crime that carry the hallmarks of al-Qaeda terrorist group.'
It said one of the four British diplomats in the car was slightly injured in the attack.
Witnesses said two men disguised in street-cleaner uniforms fired a rocket-propelled grenade at the car as it passed them on the Thalatheen street at the Noqum area, in the east of the city.
