Prince William marks 29th birthday, privately, at RAF base
Jun 21, 2011, 10:58 GMT
London - It was business as usual for Prince William on his 29th birthday Tuesday - just seven weeks after his wedding to the former Kate Middleton at London's Westminster Abbey.
The prince, second-in-line to the throne, spent the day on duty as a helicopter pilot at his Royal Air Force base on Anglesey, in Wales, near where the newly-weds live.
He was likely to be answering emergency call-outs as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot, the Press Association said.
William is now the same age as his wife, now known as Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge. They are expected to mark the birthday privately.
William is the oldest son of Prince Charles, heir to the throne, and the late Princess Diana, who died in a Paris car crash in August, 1997.
