Jul 14, 2011, 16:01 GMT
London - Media magnate Rupert Murdoch and his son, James, have agreed to give evidence to a parliamentary committee in Britain next week over the phone-hacking scandal at their newspapers, a statement by News Corporation said Thursday.
'We are in the process of writing to the select committee with the intention that Mr James Murdoch and Mr Rupert Murdoch will attend next Tuesday's meeting,' said the statement.
Earlier, both men had said they would not attend. But a summons was issued for them to do so.
