British police arrest seven in Birmingham counter-terrorism swoop

London - Six men and a woman have been arrested in an anti-terrorism operation in the British city of Birmingham, police said Monday.
The intelligence-led operation was carried out to 'ensure public safety,' said a spokeswoman for West Midland police.
However, the action was not believed to be connected to the annual conference of Britain's Liberal Democrats, which is currently being held in Birmingham.
