Oct 31, 2011, 16:13 GMT
London - Britain's Prince Charles arrived in Kuwait late Monday to take part in independence celebrations before travelling on to the Gulf state of Qatar.
He was received at the airport by Crown Prince Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah, Kuwait's KUNA news agency reported.
In both Gulf states, the prince is due to have talks about the political situation in the region as well as discussing bilateral and economic ties.
He will travel on to South Africa on November 2, where he will be joined by his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, for a seven-day trip that will also take the couple to Tanzania for that country's 50th independence celebrations.
