Ferrer moves on into London semi-finals
Nov 23, 2011, 21:54 GMT
London - David Ferrer beat Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-1 on Wednesday to claim the second spot in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals, joining Roger Federer in the last four of the year-end event.
The Spaniard backed up his defeat of now-departed Andy Murray with his thrashing of world number one Djokovic in 75 minutes with four breaks of the Serb.
Prior to the upset, Ferrer stood 1-5 against Djokovic, whose recent form has been tainted by injury after dominating the ATP during the first nine months of the season.
Competition for the second semi-final place from Group A will continue on Friday, with Djokovic and Tomas Berdych the most likely chances.
