Nov 24, 2011, 23:31 GMT
London - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Rafael Nadal 7-6 (7-2), 4-6, 6-3 to knock the Spaniard out of semi-final contention at the ATP World Tour Finals on Thursday, joining Roger Federer in the final four.
France's Tsonga and Federer reached the weekend from Group B, while Spain's David Ferrer qualified from Group A at the year-end event with one more place to be decided on Friday.
Tsonga was broken while serving for victory against Nadal, but retaliated by breaking the Spaniard back to love a game later to take victory after nearly two and three-quarter hours.
Federer moved through undefeated earlier as he beat Mardy Fish 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
