Britain's Prince Philip appears healthy after heart operation
Jan 1, 2012, 14:01 GMT
London - Prince Philip, the husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, appeared in good health on Sunday as he attended the traditional New Year's Day service with the rest of the royal family, a week after undergoing emergency heart surgery.
Churchgoers applauded as Philip, 90, walked the 400 metres from their house on the royal estate in Sandringham, eastern England, to the church on the same estate.
The prince, who is also the Duke of Edinburgh, had a stent inserted to clear a blocked artery, after complaining of chest pains just over a week ago. He was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.
