Kate keeps low profile on her 30th after first royal premiere

London - After making a show-stopping appearance with Prince William at a London film premiere the night before, Kate Middleton, the newly married duchess of Cambridge, marked her 30th birthday Monday in a distinctly low-key style.
Catherine, as she is now known, was nowhere to be seen on Monday amid reports that she had rejected plans by relatives and friends to throw an 80s-style party for her. She would mark the day privately, a spokesman said.
Middleton, who was born on January 9, 1982, dazzled in a long black lace gown at the side of Prince William at the London premiere Sunday evening of War Horse, a Steven Spielberg film that has already proved a hit in the US.
It was the first royal premiere for the duchess, who married Prince William in a fairytale wedding at London's Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.
