Hillary's mystery: Who are the 'evil men'?
By Tony Czuczka Jan 30, 2007, 12:01 GMT
Washington - Hillary Clinton says her experience in dealing with 'evil and bad men' would help her as president.
At least as intriguing for many Americans is exactly which men she had in mind.
The Democratic Party senator's quip drew a roar of laughter from several hundred voters in the central state of Iowa, where the wife of former president Bill Clinton tested her appeal for a run for the White House in 2008 over the weekend.
Pressed by reporters for an explanation, Hillary Clinton brushed off the suggestion that she meant her husband, who had an affair with a female intern while he was in the White House.
US media speculated she may also have meant Newt Gingrich, a former Republican speaker of the US House of Representatives who battled the Clinton White House's political agenda, or Kenneth Starr, a special prosecutor appointed in 1994 who investigated Clinton's financial dealings and later his sex life.
Or maybe she meant US President George W Bush, whose war policy in Iraq she branded 'the height of irresponsibility' during her swing through Iowa.
Clinton wasn't saying. But in widely televised comments to reporters, the New York senator - often portrayed as cool and bookish - acknowledged she had joked about a serious topic.
'I thought I was funny. You know, you guys keep telling me, 'Lighten up, be funny.' So I get a little funny and now I'm being psychoanalysed,' Clinton, 59, said in mock frustration.
Hillary's mystery moment came when a member of the audience in Davenport, Iowa, asked what experiences had prepared her for dealing with the world's nasty men.
She mentioned Osama bin Laden. Then, after pausing for dramatic effect, she gleefully repeated the man's question: 'What in my background equips me to deal with evil and bad men?'
Clinton flashed a seemingly knowing smile, and the audience clapped and cheered.
Later, she also gave her first indication that Bill Clinton will play a role in her campaign.
'I will certainly look for ways to employ the skills and talents of former presidents, most especially my husband,' Clinton said.
Iowa is a key battleground because the Republican and Democratic parties will hold their first preference votes for presidential candidates in the Midwestern farm state in January 2008.
The so-called Iowa caucuses kick off a series of primary elections across the nation to determine the two contenders for the White House.

There is a gold plated example! If she can cope with him, she can cope with anyone!
Bear in mind, she just lets him get away with...well...everything.
and this is the person who wants to be President?
Read 'Bloodsport'
Perhaps Bush has, but he's not dumb enough to get caught, or, lie to a federal judge about it.
One other thing, and this might surprise a liberal: Not every man wants to pop the women in front of him, or at least has the control to manage it effectively.

Hillary was going to feed him to the wolves on the FBI records scandal.
A white House staffer blamed him for it, after he was dead and could not clear his own name.
This is in the congressional record. It was on C-Span

Comments on Hillary Clinton 's commitment to become the next president are mostly reduced to a smear campaign about private matters of the subject ,not even pertaining to the public domain . .The simple trick is to trhrow mud as much as possible and hope some of it will stick .Is this the level of debate typical for the future of politics in the US .Confronted with major problems like the dramatic influence of global warming or the continuous lies of the Bush administration and about half of the GOP it seems that those responsible for the quagmire the US is currently in have no better solution than to inject machiavelistic slander and dubious personal attacks into this urgent debate .Simpletons always reduce a rational debate to the level of their own misunderstanding .
When Francois Mitterand was asked if he had an illegitimal daughter by the rightwing press in France in an attempt to tarnish his reputation he shrugged of the questionner just replying 'so what of it ?' .Case closed immediately and definitely .
That is the way to separate private matters from public life aswe understand it .But of course religious biggots and zelots prefer to pry on the private life of persons whom advocate ideas they oppose to .Have these hypocritsalsoarguments against the political ideasoris that not even necessary ?
.
When it comes to Hilary ... SP4's posts all sound like a frightened little chicken.
So what you so scared of Sprint?
Apparently she makes you so affraid that you feel the need to do a preemptive smear campaign.
If you'd watch the video of her comments, it's very clear it was just a joke from her. (kinda like your posts are a joke ... we all get it, 'cept you maybe)
Ha SP4, I knew I would find you trashing Hillary somewhere.
I think you are either attracked to her or scared of her. What could be worse than the current adminstration, have you ever thought that's why we have so many people running for president? They are thinking that after the horrible job he has done, anyone can look good.
By the way, you are coming off a little gay in your views.
SP4,
re: your comment 'Not every man wants to pop the women in front of him, or at least has the control to manage it effectively'
Control? Is that what you call it when you're 'wankin yourself' to a picture of Ann Coulter?
what say we de-nut sp4?

RE 'Hillary Clinton says her experience in dealing with 'evil and bad men'
would help her as president.'
Not much to interpret there. Where do you think campaign contributions come from?
What America needs is someone who doesn't make a lifetime career of such dealings.
It sure would be nice to dump these fifth column Zionists and get someone who
isn't a traitor in office for a change.
