Children of homosexual couples will not live a normal life. The children born by gay couples will never celebrate mothers' day. Those born by lesbian couples won't ever celebrate fathers' day.

Larry,

You're worried that they won't celebrate Mother's Day or Father's Day? Who cares?? That is not a necessity to a well-rounded, happy childhood. Loving, accepting, caring and involved parent(s) are important. Just having two parents of differing genders does not guarantee a good outcome to childhood.

Plus, this is about MARRIAGE, not PARENTHOOD. The two are not synonymous at all. Many people have children outside of marriage. Many people have marriage without parenthood. They are two different issues.

I cant this liberal state has allowed the gays to be in our face and in our children and grand childrens face. Doesnt it make you puke when you see two queer men kissing on TV? I cant wait to vote against this and I encourage everyone to do the same..except the gay queers of course.

It doesn't matter what you homophobes think. You can't legislate religion into regulating the behavior of consenting adults. If you want to do that, move to Iran.

If those of you supporting discrimination in marriage rights can't see the love and joy embodied in these pictures, then I just pity you.

If you oppose kids growing up in households without one parent of each gender, does that mean you would like to take kids away from families where one parent died or abandoned the kids?

For gay men, since they usually adopt, the kids they take in end up having no mothers, true -- but their alternative is zero mothers AND zero fathers.

(In Santa Clara County in 1999, when my husband and I looked into fostering kids, there were seven times as many kids in the foster care system as there were licensed foster families. You also couldn't adopt right away -- you had to foster and hope that the biofamily would not regain custody. This was NOT for the faint of heart.)

I totally agree with Rebecca. A loving home with two people of the same sex far outway some of the truly tragic situations that children endure in homes with parents of the opposite sex - married or unmarried. Children need to be loved and cared for rather than someone worrying about Mother's Day or Father's Day - how simple minded! And SP4 - how like you to make fun of someone you don't even know - wonder what you would look like, or, on second thought, I really don't want to know!!!

I totally believe that true gay/lesbians are born that way just the same as someone born with epilepsy, autism, or some deformity. SP - would you make fun of someone like that? Probably!

It's the 21st century but:

We aren't wearing silver capes.
We're not going to work in flying cars.
We have no cure-everything machines.
There are no commuter spaceships to Mars.
We have no antigravity.
In fact, we have none of the fun stuff.

But what makes this utterly intolerable is that well into the 21st century I'm still surrounded by pig-ignorant bigots who believe that some rules apparently made up by an imaginary boogieman over 2000 years ago are sufficient grounds to deny ordinary people their constitutional rights.

No wonder this country is a laughing stock.
