slavery ended 143 years ago.Jul 31st, 2008 - 05:47:09

Close to 360,000 almost entirely white union soldiers killed and 275,200 maimed to end slavery doesn't mean squat in the culture of perpetual victimization.

The world will have to wait 150 years before congress apologizes for mass killing muslims and striking out against an arbitrary country and taking them over.

It seems that the United States likes what they do ... until 150 years later when they change their mind.

Genocide and slavery. The United States gets away with murder (literally!).

Indeed. All genocidal maniacs make the same argument.

By that argument the following is true:

If all christians are killed, converted or expired through attrition then they are all dead. Then would one need to apologize for the deed? Make restorations to the (presumably) left over pagan children (if any of their parents were christian)?

How convenient, just wait for all victims to die, then everything is all right; as long as the genocide is 100% complete.

I am not at all sorry for getting rid of Saddam. Indeed, most of the muslims that you want the USA to apologize for were slaughtered by other muslims... You know, the ones you come here to make excuses for.

'If all christians are killed, converted or expired through attrition then they are all dead.'

Which is exactly what the Koran tells muslims to do to Christians and every other non islamic religion.

However, using Saddam as an excuse for mass killing muslims and invading and occupying a nation is just about as bogus as the excuses:

SP4: Slavery in 2008Jul 31st, 2008 - 20:17:47

I am continually bewildered by the supposed well meaning but empty gestures of folks who continually revisit the past while real slavery exists in this world we currently live in:

Sudan - chattel slavery, mostly women and children removed from their homes and forced into servitude

China - child labor in electroinics factories, via the parents 'sourcing' them to the manufacturer.

Sierra Leonne - child soldiers, chattel slavery

Congo - chattel slavery, child conscript soldiers

Saudi Arabia - chattel slavery, forced prostitution, i.e. imported 'guest' workers, fillipino women, who are denied their passports and cannot leave.

The United States - Vietnamese workers in Pacific US territories brought on work contracts in canneries, and their travel docs confiscated by their employers, preventing their leaving of their own free will.

These are just a handful of the examples. Perhaps we could have the Congress move forward, say....150 years....and live in the present.

Almost too easy to imagine.

If the United States does not recognize its mistakes then why should any of the nations you mention recognize their mistakes?

By the U.S. own actions, those nations you mention: Sudan, China, Sierra Leonne, Congo can go on with slavery for a long while and in about 150 years decide to recognize the mistake; or according to your behavior: Not recognize it at all.

Slavery is wrong for everyone no matter when they did it or do it.

Perhaps we could have [had] the Congress set a good example ... get rid of slavery when it first started.

... well, it all depends on how you define terrorism. If it is something that invokes terror then a huge arsenal of cruise missiles, laser guided bombs, and the biggest stockpile of nukes and WMDs is probably very terrorizing. i.e.: The biggest terrorist in the world is the United States.

They are also the only ones who have used nukes, while the Germans are notorious for chemical warfare. The terrorist activities of the U.S. nation are huge compared to a low-tech middle east country.

Let's ask this question:

Would you be in terror if you saw a fleet of cruise missiles (possibly nuclear tipped) fly over your house?

You need to reevaluate your mindset.

It's about time that we all got beyond all the politically correct nonsense talk. Just because the crazy libnazis put a biased spin on 'slavery' to make it seem bad, it still doesn't make it wrong.
All those of Afro-American heritage should be happy with their situation instead of being critical of it. They should feel honored to be rescued from the mosquito infested jungles, and given a home in America. What the anti-American libnazis call 'slavery' was actually a very benevolent, family oriented life style, that was destroyed by carpetbaggers from the nothern states who were trying to dominate the south and rob the people of their god-given property rights. Descendants of so-called 'ex-slaves' should be paying the government for the priviledge of becoming citizens.

Once again, there have been deadly islamist attacks in India and the Sudan and Algeria and Afghanistan and New York and Pakistan and Israel and Russia and Chechnya and the Philippines and Indonesia and Nigeria and England and Thailand and Spain and Egypt and Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia and Ingushetia and Dagestan and Turkey and Morocco and Yemen and Lebanon and France and Uzbekistan and Gaza and Tunisia and Kosovo and Bosnia and Mauritania and Kenya and Eritrea and Syria and Somalia and California and Argentina and Kuwait and Virginia and Ethiopia and Iran and Jordan and United Arab Emirates and Louisiana and Texas and Tanzania and Germany and Australia and Pennsylvania and Belgium and Denmark and East Timor and Qatar and Maryland and Tajikistan and the Netherlands and Scotland and Chad and Canada and China and Nepal and the Maldives and pretty much everywhere else they rub up against people who they can murder.
'No one from Iraq had anything to do with that.'

Al-Zarqawi was in the same group of islamist thugs and yes, he was in Iraq. He, bin Laden and al-Zawahiri called Iraq the number one front against the Christians and Jews. You are just sad because they lost.

HUSSEIN obama bin laden, and he was just impersonating a genuine American idol to fit in for awhile before he could accomplish his real terrorist mission.
And that brings us up to Bruce Ivins, AKA Bobama HUSSEIN Imans, the infamous arab islamofascist bio-weapons WMD terrorist who infiltrated the US government for over 18 years, posing as a meek, mild-mannered good old American geek. He was actually a top member of obama bin laden's inner circle, until he was exposed as an islamic terrorist and killed himself today, just before he was captured and surfboarded by CIA agents.

Dear AFRICAN slave decendants, I\'m sorry to break this news to you, but you do not \'deserve\' reparations any more than the rest of the world. Here\'s a little history lesson for you:

So stop blaming all white Americans (many which of us come from slaves as well and weren\'t even LIVING in American during the time of slavery) for your inability to succeed in life. I had no part in that past and do not appreciate having MY taxes raised to pay off the debts of someone else\'s grandparents. And lest you forget it, America\'s history and present are unique. Many Jamaicans and European blacks have moved here as well and were never the decendants of \'American Slaves\' so your case and your concerns, though valid, are impossible to rectify. Unless every human being on the earth can sue everyone else for THEIR reparations, and in some cases there is savery STILL GOING ON in other parts of the world, then your case is not unique. As human beings, teh strong have always enforced their will over the weak. This is not to insult the societies who have suffered the wrath of slavery, but it all had to do with social and military power. No one race has suffered \'more\' than any other. We have all risen and fallen throughout the world\'s past. And we have been both slave and master at some point.

Did you hear the news today? The only biological terrorist attack on U.S. soil is most likely by a U.S. government scientist who committed suicide.

I really think the U.S. should reevaluate their position on who is a terrorist and who is not a terrorists.

Fleets of cruise missiles, laser guided bombs and ICBMs invoke terror. If you keep an open mind and watch a little T.V. you will find out that the U.S. glorifies such things with T.V. series on the latest and greatest weapons. The U.S. worships their weapons technology and is a society of death.

They just have not figured it out yet. To the usual U.S. citizen a cruise missile is simply another piece of technology, like a car, a cool thing to behold. That is because they have never seen one fly over their house and kill their neighbors.

Obama wants 'reperations' ...Aug 2nd, 2008 - 05:30:14

Obama:
'I personally would want our tragic history, or the tragic elements of our history, acknowledged' said Obama. (those elements have only been the Democrat talking points daily since 1992 for crying out loud.) 'The most important thing for the U.S. government to is not just offer words, but deeds.'

There is plenty of wiggle room for Obama, but I think 'deeds' here is code for, well, cash. And if so, it would not be totally inconsistent with those many sermons and messages of Jeremiah Wright Obama apparently missed while faithfully attending and supporting the Trinity United Church of Christ for a scant couple of decades.

Among Wright's accomplishments are being keynote speaker at the advocacy group group N'COBRA (National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America) in 2007. We can only assume that this was the Jeremiah Wright that Obama 'doesn't know.' (I mean it's bad enough that John Edwards sees 2 Americas... Obama sees 2 Wrights.) The Wright that escaped the brilliant Obama's notice for 20 years is the one who delivered the talk 'A Call for Justice and Repair' in which the foundational tenet was that

'the Biblical principal of true repentence is that the offended party is given compensation to make up for that which has been stolen from them, the losses that have been inflicted upon them and their families.'

(I hate to quibble with the noted theologian, but the Biblical principle of true repentence has to do with the heart of the offender and little if anything to do with the financial condition of the offended. This must be the same bible that included transgender rights in the Sermon on the Mount.)

In addition to Wright, apparently one of the jivin' high fivin' congregants in total agreement with this principal is one Dr. Iva Carruthers. She is a self-declared active member of the church, self-declared advocate of reparations and more importantly, an 'Obama-declared' member of Obama's African American Religious Leadership Committee. (We are not sure who heads up McCain's White Religious Leadership Committee).
