Palin ran the largest state in the USA and got a 90% approval rating doing it.

Obama's only legislative accomplishment is passing the, I kid you not:

'The Democratic republic of the Congo relief, security and diplomacy promotion act.'

That's it.

That's his legislative accomplishment record and all it did was give US money to a country in Africa.

Can't wait to hear Palin discuss creationist beliefs.

Which means she thinks the earth is about 2500 years old and that at one time in our past, humans domesticated dinosaurs. (Perhaps we gave them cute names too... like Rexy or Bronty.. oh I dunno..) I'm sure she'll make better choices though... don't worry she's a self proclaimed 'hockey-mom' too so that should balance things out.

DNC didn't honor women?? did you WATCH it??
I suppose you didn't notice all those women up there speaking, all the women who were applauded, Hillary's speech, The praise lauded on her as the ultimate politician and the most history making woman in politics?

Fer gosh sakes, get off the rhetorical stick and think for yourself. Don't read a line from someone else and re-quote it as truth. I watched all 4 DAYS of that thing. If nothing else it was about honoring women, PRO womans rights, Obama has two daughters, to quote him he want them to have the SAME chances your sons do.
Unless of course you prefer them to be subjugated and treated as second class citizens, then by all means vote McCain

and yay for john mccain picking a woman who will turn back all the hard won advances women have made since the 50's! After all women cannot be trusted EVER to make their own reproductive decisions.

Why didn't he just pick Phyllis Schlafly? Anita Bryant? About the same effect. More religious based idiocy imposed on people with view different than theirs.

Yay, Go Big Oil! Alaska drilling anyone?

She isn't a creationist. That's BS.

'Which means she thinks the earth is about 2500 years old and that at one time in our past, humans domesticated dinosaurs.'

I can't wait to hear the truth about Obamas muslim background and upbringing. Which means he was registered at his Indonesian school as a muslim and received koran training and by islamic law anyone who is born to a muslim father is considered a muslim. Those who convert away from the belief are called murtad and are sentenced to death so when he left his Islamic roots to join the 'damn America' church he put a death warrant on his own head from the muslim world just like Salman Rushdie.

Here, from the NY times:

The CS Monitor:

It is pretty audacious for the Obama campaign to say that Governor Palin is not qualified to be Vice President. She has a record of accomplishment that Senator Obama simply cannot match. Governor Palin has spent her time in office shaking up government in Alaska and actually achieving results — whether it’s taking on corruption, passing ethics reform or stopping wasteful spending and the ‘bridge to nowhere.’ Senator Obama has spent his time in office running for president.

I have a problem with a woman with 5 children, one that is going to take major care, thinking this isn't her most important job right now. I'm all for women's rights, but sometimes you can't have it all while raising kids. I also have a major problem with her stand on abortion rights and that she was quoted as saying she had no idea what a VP did all day. Does that mean she blindly took on this possible future job with zero knowledge about it? Granted, she might have been a rip roaring good old girl in the northern wilderness, but Washington is a long way from moose country. That doesn't mean she can't do as good a job as Cheney - especially could maybe outshoot him, but I still say it's a little too soon for these ambitions as a mother of four young children. She could probably do well, but I think she needs to give it a few more years. Watching her older daughter trying to hold the baby makes one wonder if that is going to be her designated job.

So, do you completely agree with every little thing your so-called party stands for? Liberal or conservative, this woman has a big obligation at home, but maybe her priorities aren't on track yet. I'm sure some Alaskans are happy with her choice just as some aren't either, but as I don't agree with voting for someone who is a woman just for that fact, or a black just for that fact or someone from my state just for that fact. Everyone needs to listen to what these candidates stand for and how you feel after hearing their speeches before deciding which way to go. A party doesn't dictate who I vote for, rather the person who is running, and whose views I value does.

I think McCain picking Palin to be his Veep was a stroke of genius. He accomplished 4 things at once.

1. He stole NoBama's thunder.
2. He shored up McCain's conservative base.
3. He may very well pick up some of the female votes from former Hitlery supporters.
4. (And this is really good.) It made the people in the NoBama camp literally crap bricks...as you can see by their kneejerk reaction of saying that Palin doesn't have any experience. (Hello kettle...this is the pot)

'So, do you completely agree with every little thing your so-called party stands for? Liberal or conservative, this woman has a big obligation at home, but maybe her priorities aren't on track yet.'

I don't think it is your business to be telling women that their only job is in he household and if they are not staying at home they are somehow abandoning their children. Most of their children are grown, one is in the Army and will be serving in Iraq. As for the others, Don't you think they will have an excellent support structure out of the executive branch of the white house?

LOL, no one ever told JFK his priorities weren't on track when he brought his children to the white house.

'I don't agree with voting for someone who is a woman just for that fact, or a black just for that fact or someone from my state just for that fact.

Neither do I, but here's the thing: she has actually done something. She has run the largest state in the Union. Additionally, she is running for Vice president. Obama has a record of getting a job and then simply demanding the next one. He has 143 days in the senate before he decided he was ready to become president of the united states. There is something creepy and pathological about that.

'Everyone needs to listen to what these candidates stand for and how you feel after hearing their speeches before deciding which way to go.'

Pretty speeches don't match deeds. McCain has 50 years of service to the USA. Obama has 143 days. When you do actually listen to what they say you will realize that Obama wants to fundamentally alter the USA to a system that has proven to be a failure everywhere it has been tried.

A central concept in the founding of the United States from the federalist papers through the constitution is the rights of the individual. Only through the protection of the rights of the individual can the rights of the collective be guaranteed. This has created a country where people are free to live to the extent of their individual potential.

In focusing on the collective over the individual Obama insures that the country progresses at the speed of the lowest common denominator. By rewarding mediocrity and punishing success he will enshrine mediocrity in to our social fabric in a way that will be indelible. We will simply become just another country where we (sort of) elect people to tell us what to do because we are too lazy or afraid to do it ourselves.

'Most of their children are grown' - I don't think you have read much about this VP pick. One is out of the house - four are still there, and they aren't that old!! In fact, I think she is breast feeding the baby. I'm not telling a woman that her only job is in the household. I'm just concerned that she has a lot on her home plate and if she is able to give as much to the job as she needs to. It's far be it to me whether or not her children suffer - that's her problem and mine to wonder about. Personally I don't care what she does one way or another - I was just voicing my thoughts - nothing to get so riled up about. I still want to hear how these candidates do in debates and what they proclaim they are for and against before I decide where I cast my vote. This is an entirely different situation than what any of them have been involved with before.

'I'm not telling a woman that her only job is in the household'

Well, yes, actually. What you are saying is that you can't be a female parent and hold a demanding job.

If her decision to have a baby diagnosed with downs syndrome was wrong, then I assume that all people born with downs syndrome wish they were never born. I am yet to find one person who wishes her mother aborted him/her.

Finally, it would seem that this lady and Obama both studied political science....Obama is running for the position of PRESIDENT and this lady for the Vice President.

I'm all for women in the work place if they can do both. As an employer I expect full attention, and if you have a house full of kids, that ain't gonna happen!! I just meant that I would think her mind would surely be preoccupied with them when it needs to be on the job, especially with a special needs baby. I know there are nannies and other people to PAY to raise your kids, but I question the reasoning of someone with those kinds of priorities and how it will affect her thinking in other matters. I don't go along with her stand on abortion either in regard to incest or rape. She might sing another tune if it would involve one of her daughters. If not, then she is a tough cookie! It will be interesting to hear what she says at the convention. Just maybe I'll have a better feeling about her, but I could never imagine her as President if that would fall on her...IF, by chance, this ticket would win!

It has been ruined by the Polotitions that spend our money and keep charging us more in the Tax hikes. It has become a Runaway Train. When I heard Sarah Pain speak on TV the night McCainn's nomination. I got a breath of fres air. I will hang around to see the outcome. Sarah could be the answer to the beginning of a new Life for America. GO SARAH

What is wrong with you people?!!! Barack Obama is not a d@m! Muslim!!! Stop believing everything you hear from the Republican party! Pick up a book some time or actually watch something educational on television instead of drinking the Kool-Aid. They like to keep you in fear b/c people who are afraid will do whatever you tell them to do. Get a mind of your own for peace sakes!

Obama is not running against Palin. He is running against McCain. Republicans want you to concentrate on him vs her b/c they know Biden will eat her alive and they don't want to concentrate on his record b/c it is easier to sell mindless robots on their lies about Obama.

Palin has nothing on Obama. No one even knew who she was until McCain made the announcement. I truly hope that you don't think women are so simple minded as to vote for him just because there is a woman on the ticket. And for those who are (especially Democrats who are switching over) I hope you have a back up plan when you loose your jobs, can't afford to find one b/c gas is so d@#! high, and your kids can't go to college b/c they can't afford it. Seriously...be smarter!!!
