U.S. opposes `no country` for U.N. seat
Jun 27, 2005, 21:53 GMT
Washington - U.S. President George W. Bush, after meeting with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, said the United States does not oppose any country's bid for a permanent seat on the U.N. Security Council.
"We oppose no country," Bush told reporters.
Schroeder said that during their discussions he was pleased to hear that the United States had not taken a position against a German seat on the powerful body.
The United States has endorsed only Japan and will support an additional seat for a second country. India and Brazil are two other candidates seeking a permanent seat.
