Schwarzenegger briefly hospitalized with rapid heart beat

San Francisco - California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was briefly hospitalized Tuesday night after experiencing a rapid heartbeat, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Schwarzenegger, 58, checked into the University of California, Davis Medical Center at about midnight Tuesday after his doctor recommended he have his heartbeat checked, spokeswoman Margita Thompson said in a statement. Upon arrival, doctors said the rate was normal and released the former bodybuilder and actor after several hours.
Austrian-born Schwarzenegger underwent surgery to repair a heart valve in 1997. Thompson said occasional rapid heartbeat was common following this type of procedure.
