Disgraced lobbyist sentenced to prison term
Mar 30, 2006, 0:16 GMT
Washington - A Florida court Wednesday sentenced a former lobbyist to nearly six years in prison for his involvement in a fraudulent casino deal, according to local news reports.
Jack Abramoff, 46, a former top lobbyist in Washington, pleaded guilty in January to having lied about putting down 23 million dollars to get a loan to buy casino boats in Florida.
Abramoff's legal troubles do not end with the case. He also pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges related to his lobbying activity.
