Colleague might have shot FBI agent in robbery bust (Roundup)
Apr 6, 2007, 4:51 GMT
Washington - An agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was shot and killed Thursday during an imminent bank robbery in the Atlantic Coast state of New Jersey.
Late Thursday, FBI officials announced that agent Barry Lee Bush may have been slain by a round fired by a fellow agent.
A spokesman said that the shooting 'may be the result of an accidental discharge' by another member of the team of agents investigating a series of bank robberies in New Jersey.
The shooting occurred as the agents were apparently swooping down on four armed robbers preparing to make a heist against a bank in Readington, New Jersey, about 70 kilometres south-west of New York City.
Police arrested three suspects in the case, and a fourth man was still being sought.
