Bush mourns Utah miners as rescue efforts called off
Sep 2, 2007, 1:20 GMT
Washington - US President George W Bush expressed sadness Saturday over the fate of six miners trapped in a Utah mine for nearly a month after rescuers called off their efforts.
'The people of the central Utah mining community have inspired us all with their incredible strength and courage in the face of tremendous loss,' Bush said in a statement. 'Last night, a difficult decision was made to end the search. Laura and I are deeply saddened by this tragedy and continue to pray for the families of these men.'
Officials told the families of the trapped miners in Huntington, Utah late Friday that none of the men had likely survived the collapse of the mine on August 6. A last attempt to contact the men with a camera lowered through a drilled hole showed no sign of life.
Three other men died when a tunnel to reach the trapped miners collapsed.
The mine's operator has said it will remained closed.

doesn't mourn. He pretends to mourn. SP4 likes that in a coward president.
...Bush, the worlds cleanup boy, the one with the cajones to tackle iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and the rest of the worlds garbage, while Clinton the draft dodger, is lauded for sitting on his ass while N. Korea armed itself with nukes, and Al Queda grew. Must have been the chinese and rusian campaign money, huh?
Honestly, who's the suckhead above? Talk about a coward.
SP4 (whatever that is) likes his US Senators fuddering around in the mens room with male cops.
